Guess what!?


WE ARE ADOPTING!!!

On July 9th (the Sunday Payton returned from Haiti), we started the prayerful pursuit of making this little guy from Haiti, a Junkin. As mentioned here, we have experienced great victory and great loss in the past two months. But praise God for teaching us of His power and sovereignty through it all. In the midst of still grieving the loss of our baby, we look at this face and quickly become overwhelmed with peace. We know that THIS baby boy is who God had chosen and who we are choosing to be "our first born", "the big brother", and "the beginning" to our growing Junkin family.


On October 6 we will fly to Haiti to spend some time with "baby boy".(which is what we are calling him right now until we decide agree what his name shall be ;) This will be Heather's first time in the country of Haiti and her first time to meet "baby boy". Excited, nervous, anxious, overjoyed, and surreal are just a few of the words that describe our emotions about our upcoming trip.


The story of what God has done and the mountains He has moved to get us to this point is truly remarkable. We serve an amazing, faithful, sovereign God! We look forward to sharing in detail the full story very soon. In the meantime...


We humbly ask you to PLEASE join us in prayer!

Please pray for "baby boys" health, well being, and protection.

Please pray that the entire adoption process will be unexplainably smooth. (Adoption from Haiti is a very, very intricate, difficult, and huge PROCESS.)

Please pray for safety for our upcoming trip and that the Lord begins to supernaturally instill in us a motherly and fatherly love for "baby boy".


"Now to him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us, to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, for ever and ever! Amen." Ephesians 3:20-21

  1. YAY!!!! I'll be praying for the two of you. What an amazing gift. Praying for the process to be unexplainably smooth like you said. Ya'll will be the best. He is ADORABLE!!! ugh... this is just wonderful news. Heather, I am so sorry for ya'lls loss. I have been praying for the two of you and will continue. LOVE YOU!

  2. That is so amazing! I LOVE LOVE adoption and can't wait until I can adopt one day. I think it's awesome that you're starting your family out this way! Many people "wait" until they've had their own children. But why make more babies first when you can save a few orphans?! :) Congrats!! I pray that it goes smoothly and quickly!
