Day 9 of #first13of2013Haiti

Yesterdays post spoke to rice.  Exciting, I know.  Well, todays post speaks to its BFF....BEANS!!!

The purpose of these few days of "food specific" posts is to give you more tangible insight into where your money will be spent.  To give you a greater understanding into the affect that it will have.

A bulk of the proceeds from #first13of2013Haiti will purchase beans.  As mentioned, Haiti is known for their rice and beans.  And you cant have rice and beans without beans! :)

110lbs of beans in Haiti costs approximately $90 through the source from which we will purchase them.  It is estimated that one of these bags of beans has the potential to last 3 to 4 weeks, if proportioned correctly, within each of the orphanages that #first13of2013Haiti is striving to aide.

Want to buy some beans???
Check below to see how.

Campaign promise for #first13of2013Haiti:  Every penny WILL be spent for the purchase of food for these orphanages and we will be intentional in informing each giver with a detailed update once campaign has been brought to completion.

FYI: God has made a way for #first13of2013Haiti to conclude with Heather and I on the ground in Haiti!!!  Some great friends of ours, Jason and Joy Standridge, will be traveling alongside us. We leave Friday, January 11th and return Monday, January 14th.

We will be visiting each orphanage that #first13of2013Haiti exists to aide.    Though we will get to see our boy(Praise God), the main focus of this weekend trip is to further assess the condition of the 5 orphanages.  As well as, to ensure the greatest level of financial stewardship and accurate distribution of funds collected from the #first13of2013Haiti campaign.

We will post a blog on January 12th and January 13th with new pictures and direct insight into the lives, your giving is impacting.  Praise God that He involves us in His work.  We highly covet your prayers and again, we THANK YOU for your giving!
