Stepping IN

“So when the people broke camp to cross the Jordan, the priests carrying the ark of the covenant went ahead of them. Now the Jordan is at flood stage all during harvest. Yet as soon as the priests who carried the ark reached the Jordan and their feet touched the water’s edge, the water from upstream stopped flowing. It piled up in a heap a great distance away, at a town called Adam in the vicinity of Zarethan, while the water flowing down to the Sea of the Arabah (that is, the Dead Sea) was completely cut off. So the people crossed over opposite Jericho.”  Joshua 3:14-16
In modern day, I am willing to bet the farm that Oprah, Matt Lauer, Katie Curic, Barbara Walters, Brian Williams, Anderson Cooper and people alike would be engaged in an all out royal rumble for the interview of Joshua regarding the above passage.  No telling what each of the anchors networks would be willing to invest to get the details.
I can only even imagine what the reaction would have been like as this miraculous sign of God’s wonder and power took place.  Multiple Youtube videos of the miracle, no doubt.  Thousands of tweets with the hashtags #miracle, #unbelievable, #dry, #Jordanwaterwall.  An immediate worldwide trending topic, for sure.  Facebook status’ galore.  Instagram shots, indeed.  CNN.  Fox.  Even ESPN would probably cut programming to cover this story!

Well,  we are not Joshua. Nor are we the priests who carried the ark into the Jordan on this day.   We are not going to step into the ocean in Haiti tomorrow with the expectation of the water standing up, leading us right back to good ole Alabama.  There are not millions of people’s well being at stake.

But, we are STEPPING IN tomorrow.  We are pursuing something that seems impossible.  We are in need of a God sized miracle and intervention, just like the story above.

We have been given some “looks” as if we were crazy.  We have been told “good luck” in a sarcastic way.  Many seeds of doubt have been sown, as we have pursued this route of bringing Rowen home on a Non-Immigrant Visa.

I am sure Joshua received some of the same.  Bottom line: we stand firm upon our God.  We stand firm in our belief, that He is ABLE, REGARDLESS!!!  We are humbled and honored that the God of the universe has involved us in this mission of setting one of His creations in his family.  All praise and honor to the King of Kings!

Our appointment is tomorrow, Monday, at 10:30am US time.  11:30am Haiti time.  We humbly, once again, ask for your prayers.  Thank you beyond words for each of your support!

Thy Kingdom come, Thy will be done.  His story, His glory! In Jesus name.
“...We do not make requests of you because we are righteous, but because of your great mercy.  Lord, listen! Lord, forgive!  Lord, hear and act! For your sake, my God, do not delay, because your city and your people bear your Name.”
Daniel 9:18-19
