Rowen-Home and 18 Months

We haven't gone into much detail about our upcoming trip in April and our pursuit of bringing Rowen home for many reasons. But the more time I spend time in the Word and the more conversations Payt and I have about the purpose of this blog; I desire for you, consistent readers and prayer warriors, to be totally informed on what God is doing in our lives.

As of our meeting back in January with our new social worker, our adoption process has taken quite a turn. Besides asking for prayers for Rowen to come home in April, we haven't shared much more than just that. Partly, out of fear and partly out of an effort to cover this new route that our social worker is wanting to take in prayer.

He has been in the process of working on getting Rowen an extended Visa which will hopefully and prayerfully be issued to us through an interview process that Payton, Rowen, and I will have at the US Embassy while we are there in April. This extended Visa will allow Rowen to come home while the adoption process is completed. The US Embassy in Haiti will either grant us a one, three, or five year Visa OR not one at all!

We are obviously praying and believing God to grant us a three-five year Visa, but nothing will be of certainty until Rowen is either on the airplane flying back home with us or remaining in Haiti.

We stand 110% confident that for some reason God has chosen this unconventional path for us to pursue. And because of that certainty, we are believing and claiming in faith that He will make a way! It will truly be a miracle if Rowen comes home with us in April. We know that full well.

We are clinging to Habakkuk 3:2 which says, "Lord, I have heard of your fame; I stand in awe of your deeds, O, Lord. Renew them in our day, in our time make them known."

We know that He STILL preforms miracles, moves mountains, and does the impossible.

If you know anything about the Visa process, especially in Haiti, you along with many other people are reading and thinking the same thing. "Good Luck...Yall are crazy....Its definitely a long shot."

And maybe you are right, but we choose faith. I choose faith. I choose BIG faith. Our God is bigger. Our God does not live in reality, He lives to show Himself supernaturally!

Therefore, I believe my baby boy will be home in April!

Psalm 77:13-14 says, "Your ways, O God, are Holy. What God is great as our God? You are the God who performs miracles; You display your power among the peoples."

When I started praying months ago that Rowen would be home in April, I didn't know how it would happen or exactly why I felt that God could possibly be setting April as Rowen's coming home date. At the time, we were spinning our wheels trying to get all of our adoption paperwork complete, and I was praying that God would expedite the process. April really wasn't a realistic possibility, but Payt and I chose to believe and have faith that God would somehow make this happen.

After our social worker explained to us in January that he needed two months to work on the paperwork for Rowen's Visa and after dreams of Rowen sitting in my lap at Pax's doctor's appointments and ultrasounds; we stand in FAITH!

So happy 18 months to our baby boy!

Please pray and believe with us that another month doesn't go by that we miss out on our son's life. We need you and we need you're prayers.

Love you all and thank you to everyone that has spurred us on to this point. We can't wait for you to meet the little guy you've all been praying for!

  1. I just wanted to let you know that firstly of course, I am praying for you and your family. Secondly, your words through your journey have been an inspiration to me. Even though you are talking about your heart in the adoption process, the level of faith that you have to believe and claim such BIG aspirations is how it should be in every aspect of life and so many of us are afraid to believe that big. We limit God because we are afraid "to ask for too much". You are an amazing family and I'm going to pray with you that you will be united as one in the US in April. Thank you for sharing your story.
