Happy Thanksgiving!

Good Morning and Happy Thanksgiving!

The parade is on, the food is cooking, and we're getting prepared to make our rounds.....Junkin family lunch and on to Birmingham for Millington family dinner.

We are so thankful for our wonderful, loving, generous families, our great group of friends, good health, a shelter thats making great progress :), church community, stability, and of Jesus Christ!

His unconditional love, selfless grace, PATIENCE, firm discipline and sanctification, and the gift of salvation.

This is a picture of Roman restrooms......

They would sit boy, girl, boy, girl, and each Roman would take care of their business.

Underneath the stone "toilets" were two streams of water. One stream flushed away the "business" while the other stream served as a fresh water stream that the Romans would dip a sponge that they carried with them to wipe.....pretty gross huh? Believe it or not, but they were actually the most culturally advanced!

"From noon until three in the afternoon darkness came over all the land. About three in the afternoon Jesus cried out in a loud voice, “Eli, Eli, lema sabachthani?”(which means “My God, my God, why have you forsaken me?”).

When some of those standing there heard this, they said, “He’s calling Elijah.”

"Immediately one of them ran and got a sponge. He filled it with wine vinegar, put it on a staff, and offered it to Jesus to drink. The rest said, “Now leave him alone. Let’s see if Elijah comes to save him.” Matthew 27:45-49

And thats what I am thankful for! Not only did Jesus bore a gruesome, painful death and suffered the consequences of our sins on a cross, BUT the King of Kings was a giving a nasty sponge that had previously been used to "satisfy" His thirst while hanging and dying just for us!

Happy Thanksgivivng!

And thats a wrap for Highlight #2.
