She brings him good, not harm,
All the days of her life.
As women, we are called to be vehicles of peace and comfort to each other and to our/future spouses. 1 Peter 3:11 says that we must seek peace and pursue it. While men are not excluded from this portion of Scripture, we women, however, tend to be a tad bit more expressive with not just our feelings, but with our MOUTHS! I am so guilty of discussing and expressing my opinion about a situation that might involve other people when the innocence of the conversation can be too easily be twisted into a form of gossip. I never have the intentions to gossip, but if a conversation ever has the potential to label someone incorrectly, I consider it a form of gossip. Gossip brings EVERYTHING contrary to peace. It stirs up strife, confusion, bitterness, division, etc. Therefore, we are to learn and begin practicing when to lay low and when to speak. There is time for both. And in doing so, we will begin edifying, esteeming, and honoring our husbands, friends, and family in and out of company.
We are to strive to do everything in honor and nothing to shame those God has purposely put in our lives. Therefore watch your conversations and guard each other through a tamed tongue, giving no one room for falsehood or negativity to those we love.
"Take delight in honoring each other." Romans 12:11
